PENDLE Leisure Trust is encouraging everyone to 'Take the Plunge' and get back in the pool.

For decades swimming has been a traditional pastime, but recently it has been replaced with more appealing activities and hobbies. So under the heading of ‘Take the Plunge’, the trust is urging people to get back into the water for fun, fitness or safety reasons.

With numerous activities, challenges and offers at each of its three centres, including the West Craven Sports Centre in Barnoldswick, the trust is looking at ways to keep all ages entertained.

Pendle Leisure Trust’s chief executive, Phil Storey, said: “We have some fantastic facilities and offer such a varied timetable of water-related activities. We provide early morning and late night sessions, as well as schools and public swimming, in national size pools.

“We cater for everyone from mums-to-be and new mums with aquanatal and aquababes sessions, we offer lessons to young and old, snorkelling and have inflatables.

“The cost of swimming has been seen as a barrier to some people, but we are going to make it affordable for everyone by introducing some ridiculously low prices on certain days."
