PEOPLE are to gather at All Saints' Church, Burton-in-Lonsdale, to mark the closure of the village's Richard Thornton C of E Primary School at the end of the summer term. A service will be conducted by the Acting Area Bishop of Bradford, the Right Rev Tom Butler, at 2pm tomorrow. The school has just 12 pupils - all boys - and recently celebrated its 160th anniversary.
