COMMUNITIES across Craven have been doing their bit to make the Tour de France a memory to cherish.
People have decorated shops, hung out bunting, held events and provided places to stay and eat in a bid to spread a bit of fun and to give a great Dales welcome to the cyclists and all those who have been following this huge international sporting event.
The summer scenery has been enlivened with extra colour reflecting the jerseys worn by race competitors; in particular shades of yellow have sprung up everywhere - along the roadsides, on landmark buildings and even on farm animals.
Such has been the Tour's impact in the past few weeks that it is difficult to imagine quite what life will be like now the Grand Depart has indeed departed.
