INGLETON took a trip back in time at the weekend - to the days of the Second World War.
It staged Operation Homeguard, where the village is turned into a German-occupied French market town about to be liberated by the Allies.
The event is organised to remember those who lost their lives fighting for their country.
This year's commemoration included Anne Frank Trust UK exhibition in the Methodist Chapel, 1940s music and dancing in the village square and local pubs, military re-enactments, a speech by Winston Churchill, a street parade led by the City of Bradford pipe band and a flypast by a Dakota from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
Organiser John Ward said: "We didn't really know what to expect this year with the Tour de France, but it didn't seem to affect us and the roads weren't as busy as we expected them to be. The weekend went really well and the weather was gorgeous."
The event will return again next year - on July 4 and 5.
