PORK pie and sausage roll lovers were urged to make quick work of the favourite snacks - and boost the appeal to help little Connor Wrighton see.
Visitors to the Rapha Tempest Festival of Cycling at Skipton's Broughton Hall were asked to take a 'Time Trial Challenge' set by butchers Drake and Macefield to devour a pork pie and a sausage roll in the fastest possible time.
Entrants paid £5 to have a chance at winning a barbecue grill provided by Weber, with cash going to the appeal to pay for stem cell treatment which could give some sight to eight-month-old Connor, of Skipton, who doctors think was born blind.
Drake and Macefield butcher Steven Teal said it was a challenge lots of people had been happy to get their teeth into.
"It's proved really popular - and the money is going to a really good cause."
