WHO is a true champion of culture and the arts in Craven?
The judges for this year's Craven Community Champions Awards are looking for an unsung hero or organisation that has made a real difference to the arts, heritage and culture in the district.
Now you have the chance to nominate for this year’s Arts and Culture Award an individual, voluntary group or organisation who
• have helped promote excellence and innovation in the arts
• have helped to make arts and culture accessible to everyone in the community
• have made a positive difference to improving the well-being of residents
• have been creative in making the most of the resources available to them.
Do you know of someone or organisation that fits this profile? Please pick up and fill in a nomination form before Friday, September 5. Nomination forms are available from the Craven District Council website at www.cravendc.gov.uk/communitychampions, or pick one up from any local participating shop or service, library or doctors surgery.
The Arts and Culture Award is sponsored by Peel Entertainment.
Last year's winner was Joan Murray, who has been teaching fashion and clothing at Craven College for several years and has developed a number of inspirational projects and made exciting industrial and voluntary community links for her students.
