WAR veteran Frank Stokes will lead a vigil to honour the 21 young men from Embsay and Eastby who lost their lives during World War One on Monday night.
It will take place at Embsay War Memorial from 10pm to 11pm.
The ceremony is part of the national moment of reflection being held throughout the country to mark the 100th anniversary of the day Britain entered the First World War.
The first 21 minutes of the vigil will honour each life lost and this will be followed by a period of silent reflection.
