THE ringing of the church bell will start the First World War commemorations in Hebden.
Ian Simpson will ring thee bell at St Peter'sChurch at 11am on Saturday and that will be followed by a few words from the curate, the Rev Heather Houlton, outside the Institute.
Inside the institute there will be an exhibition highlighting the lives of the soldiers from the village.
Tea and coffee will be served until 12.30pm and a Going Away Tea will be available from 2pm to 5pm featuring food from the period. Profits will be divided between the Royal British Legion and the institute.
