CRAVEN blood donors are being urged to remember to give this month.
NHS Blood and Transplant bosses issued the plea after revealing that donations traditionally drop in August when people are distracted by holidays.
"We’re asking our donors to please make an appointment to donate before they go away," said spokesman Donna Batty.
"Also we'd love to hear from people who have never given blood before."
Anyone aged 17 to 65, weighing more than 50kg and in general good health could potentially become a donor.
Two sessions are planned locally this month – at Sutton Village Hall on August 26, from 2pm to 4pm and 5pm to 7.15pm and at Skipton's Ermysted's Grammar School on August 27, from 2pm to 3.45pm and 4.45pm to 7.30pm.
