NELSON AND COLNE COLLEGE
STAFF and students at Nelson and Colne College sixth form are celebrating with an A -level pass rate of 100 per cent.
This success follows on from the college being recognised as the first in the country for A-level value added scores, which measure the distance between a student’s eventual grades and the predictions based on their GCSEs.
College principal Amanda Melton said: “I am thrilled for all of our students, who have worked extremely hard this year and are fully deserving of their excellent success. In particular we’re delighted to see the number of A* grades continuing to rise and to see so many of our students secure their first choice places at some of the country’s leading universities.”
This year more than 380 students from the college will progress to top universities across the UK, including York, University College London, Manchester, Leeds and Bath.
