INCREASED signage will help visitors to Skipton find out about the town's newest car park, says the man who first put forward plans for it.
The recently-opened Bailey car park near Skipton Castle has been attracting 50 to 60 cars a day. There are 193 car spaces and five for coaches.
Castle administrator Sebastian Fattorini said he was "very pleased" that it had got off to a good start.
He told the Craven Herald: "Drivers coming from the direction of Harrogate can see that it's there, but you may not realise it's there from other directions. I'm hoping that we will get more signs. As well as providing parking for castle visitors, it's helping to relieve pressure on the town centre too and it's important all motorists know it's available to them. More signs will help."
Mr Fattorini added that he expected the car park to prove especially popular with walkers in Skipton Woods, who could do a circular walk from the car park without having to cross any major roads.
