Youngster wins bike in Tour competition

A YOUNGSTER has won a bike in a competition staged by Steeton-with-Eastburn Parish Council.

Luke Westerman, ten, took top spot in the contest, to design a T-shirt celebrating the arrival in the the area last month of the Tour de France.

He received his prize from Coun Gladys Emmott.

The bike was funded by Redrow Homes and bought from Aire Valley Cycles in Keighley.

When the Grand Depart passed through the district, all 150 competition entries were displayed at a pop-up cafe in Steeton Hub and a family fun day was staged at the Keighley Road recreation ground.

Runners-up in the contest received yellow rosettes.
