AMONG the hundreds of women taking part in Ilkley's Race for Life were staff and pupils from Skipton Girls’ High School, who ran in memory of former teacher Gill Blackwell, who lost her battle with cancer in December 2013.
Girls from Gill’s form FPR first ran the race in 2012, and chose to take part again this year.
Year 12 student Megan Schofield, who organised the team, said: “Mrs Blackwell was such an inspiring lady and we felt that we should do the race for life in memory of her and to raise money for an excellent cause."
The day was a real success, with lots of students and teachers participating in the Skipton Girls’ uniform.
All money raised will go towards Cancer Research UK.
