LIBERALcouncillors in Barnoldswick have called for an investigation into the causes and possible cures for the flash flooding that took place in the town on Thursday.
The group has demanded answers on why areas previously unaffected by flooding were inundated during last week’s downpour.
Areas known to have been hit by flooding in Barnoldswick include Langsford Close, Long Ing, Crownest Industrial Estate, Esp Lane, Ings Avenue, Gisburn Road (Fosters Arms area) and Victory Park/Greenberfield Lane
Councillors are asking if the Environment Agency has cleared trash screens on watercourses following the event and want a full report on the problems to go to the next meeting of Pendle Council's West Craven Area Committee.
