A SERIES of events aimed at helping people to trace first world war relatives is to be held in libraries across Craven.

Informal Trace your First World War Relative sessions will provide advise and expertise on finding ancestors.

library staff will be on hand to help people navigate their way around thousands of military records available on websites, ancestry.com and find my past.

Sessions will take place at Bentham Library on Monday, September 8 from 10am to 12 midday; Skipton Library, Tuesday, September 9, 10am to 12 midday; Ingleton, Wednesday, September 10, 10am to 12 midday; Embsay, Thursday, September 11, 10am to 12 midday; Grassington, Friday, September 12, 1.30pm to 3.30pm; Gargrave, Thursday, September 18, 2pm to 4pm; Settle, Friday, September 19, 10am to 12 midday; Cross Hills, Monday, September 22, 10am to 12 midday.

The events are part of the Heritage Lottery funded Craven and the First World War commemoration project.
