YEADON now need a cricketing miracle if they are to preserve their JCT600 Bradford League Division One status.

With two games to go and just 40 points to play for they are 36 adrift of third-bottom East Bierley.

They need to get maximum points from both their games and hope that East Bierley only take three points from their last two fixtures as they have more wins already than Yeadon can muster.

While they might fancy their chances against fellow relegation candidates Morley at the White Swan ground this Saturday, their final match sees them visiting second-placed Woodlands.

Yeadon, who were promoted when Manningham Mills were voted out of the league last year, were pushed to the brink by Pudsey Congs in a match reduced to 25 overs per side last Saturday,

Skipper Gareth Phillips made 73 as Congs reached 179-7. Paul Machell (3-29) and Oliver Halliday (3-48) were the pick of the Yeadon bowlers.

Despite spirited efforts from Oliver Stephenson (43), Tariq Mehboob (34) and Damon Gormley (34no) Yeadon were restricted to 149-5 in reply.
