AN extraordinary meeting of all members of Craven District Council is due to be held on Tuesday to discuss a staffing matter.

The extraordinary general meeting of the council has been called by five councillors, comprising three independent members, one Conservative and one Labour.

Such meetings are called when a matter is considered so serious or urgent to need the attention of all members before the next scheduled meeting of the council.

A council spokesman tolfd the Herald: “The council has acceded to a request to convene an EGM to discuss a staffing matter and a meeting has been called for September 9 at 7pm.”

The Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) is being held following a request by five councillors - Cllr Chris Harbron, (Cons, Skipton East); Cllr Andy Solloway, (Ind, Skipton South); Cllr John Kerwin-Davey, (Ind, Skipton North) Cllr Robert Heseltine (Ind, Skipton South) and Cllr Paul Madeley (Lab, Skipton West).

It will be led by council chairman, Cllr Linda Brockbank, who is the Conservative member for Bentham.
