SKIPTON Academy opened for the first time last week with a new name, a new principal and with its pupils sporting a new, smart uniform.
Wendy Hamilton took over the reins at the former Aireville School when it was converted to an academy at the start of the term.
Her aims include making it outstanding by 2020, to ensure all learning and teaching is good or better and that all lessons are both enjoyable and challenging.
She also calls for high standards of behaviour from pupils and to ensure they fulfil their potential.
Skipton Academy will be holding open events in the mornings from Monday, September 22 to Wednesday, September 24, from 9.30am to 12.30pm, and an open evening on Wednesday, September 24 from 5pm to 8pm.
To book a tour and meet Ms Hamilton, students, staff and governors, telephone the school on 01756 792965.
