ILKLEY coach Rhys Morgan was both relieved and delighted with his side's 24-15 home win over Percy Park.

But he also has a mounting injury list with No.8 Nick Carolan dislocating a knee and flanker Gus Ramsey suffering a hamstring problem.

Aussie Carolan faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines is the third No.8 after Iain McKenzie and Stu Brewer to be struck down by serious injury.

As he prepared his side for Saturday's North One East trip to Sheffield, Morgan said: "The injuries are a blow but they are part and parcel of the game.

"This time last year we had loads of injuries to our backs, this time its our back row forwards. We just have to work round the problem and deal with the situation."

With the cricket season now over, Morgan does have greater numbers in his squad. Ryan Cooper came on as a replacement scrum half against Percy Park, while flanker Charlie Davy and winger JH Johnson are all in contention for Saturday.

"I was thrilled for the lads with the way they played against Park. As a coach you always want to get that first win under your belt and I felt we played really well.

"There were things we had to work on after our defeat at Pocklington and we put many of them right. There are areas we can tighten up on but that will come with playing more matches."
