A FORMER employee of the Bentham Development Trust who could be jailed for the theft of more than £100,000 has had her case put back until November.

Anne Celia Yaman, 63, was charged with a series offences following a police inquiry into accounting irregularities which began in late 2011 and in June this year she pleaded guilty to charges of fraud, theft and false accounting covering a period from March 2008 to November 2011.

Yaman, who is currently on bail and living in Seaford, Sussex, admitted a specific offence of theft which related to her stealing just over £101,000 from the trust between January 2009 and November 2011.

The three fraud offences she admitted involved cheques for further sums totalling more than £3,000 and Yaman also pleaded guilty false accounting offences relating to the falsification of tax and national insurance documentation submitted to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs between March 2008 and April 2011.

Back in June, Bradford Crown Court heard that Yaman was due to go into hospital for a surgical procedure and, on Thursday, Judge Jonathan Rose agreed to a further adjournment after being handed a letter from her doctor.

Yaman was not at court and although Judge Rose agreed to put her hearing back until November 11 he requested a further report from the defendant's treating physician.

"We need to know the detail of her current condition, the treatment she's receiving and when she is going to be fit to attend," said Judge Rose.

The judge ordered that an up-to-date medical report should be served by November 4.
