SONGWRITER Jez Lowe will perform at Lothersdale Live next weekend.

Jez has packed folk clubs and concert halls for more than 30 years, both in this country and around the world.

Nominated as Folk Singer of the Year in 2008, he is a recognised musical ambassador for his native North East England. He had recorded almost 20 albums and his songs have become classics.

In 2006, he was invited to take part in the award-winning BBC series, The Radio Ballads, and this year, a third set of programmes, entitled The Ballad of the Great War, is being broadcast to commemorate the start of World War One.

He will perform at Lothersdale Village Hall next Saturday, October 25, in the second Lothersdale Live concert.

Support will be provided by Sue MacFarlane.

The club was set up to bring top class artists in the world of folk, roots and blues to the area.

A real ale bar will be provided by Bridgehouse Brewery and wines and soft drinks will also be served.

Doors open at 7.30pm and further details - including ticket information - can be found at lothersdalelive.org.uk
