MUM and business woman Stephanie Clarke has been shortlisted in the Mumpreneur 2014 Awards - which honour parents who manage the difficult task of juggling business with family life.

Stephanie, who lives in Barnoldswick, is the founder and co-owner of Purple Cupcakes which designs and distributes cake-making tools and sundries from a workshop in the town.

The business was founded in 2010 when Stephanie and her sister, Fiona, decided to pursue their dream of owning a business that made cupcake creations.

“The business has gone from strength to strength since we made our first cakes”, said Stephanie. “We realised that there were opportunities to develop interesting tools and techniques to create truly inspirational cake designs.

"We now have a wonderful range of our own decorating tools together with everything that a professional or amateur cake maker could ever need."

They also have an impressive following on the social media site, Face Book with 65,000 followers.

“I’m thrilled that we have been shortlisted for an award," said Stephanie. “We’ve worked so hard, and to be in the final is amazing."

The entries will be judged by a panel of top entrepreneurs and the winners will be announced at The Mumpreneur Conference and Awards, in Warwickshire, on November 8.
