POEMS flooded in from all over the country for Skipton Library’s poetry competition, which was launched earlier this year with the help of local poet Isobel Thrilling.
More than 300 entries were received and the winners have been announced.
They are: adults - 1 The Ghost Orchid by Dilys Wood, 2 Nectarine by Carolyn King, 3 Arthouse for real by Simon J Clarke, highly commended Helen Burke, Julie Mellor, John Gallas, Shirley Anne Cook and Katharine Walkden.
Twelve to 16 - 1 The Canal by Asha Howard-Birt, 2 Girl Think by Tallulah Williams, 3 The things that people don’t think about by Ruqayya Arshad, highly commended Chloe Handley.
Under 12s - 1 Autumn by Sam Balderstone, 2 Jeffrey the Hedgehog by Lauren Barugh, 3 Silence by Gabriel Williams, highly commended Daniel Wright and Olive Mitton.
