EARBY-based West Craven Insurance Services has agreed to sponsor Barnoldswick's second Santa Fun Run

The business will also be entering a team of Santas who will be running to support the Bosom Friends charity.

Organisers are hoping to attract 500 Santas to this year's event, which will take place next Sunday, December 7.

The five-kilometre course will start at West Craven Sports Centre, before heading along the canal towpath towards Salterforth and returning via New Road and the streets of Barnoldswick to the finish line in the Town Square.

Again the aim is to raise money for the cancer support group.

Run organiser Sharon Hurst said: “We’re delighted to have the support of one of the area’s most prominent businesses – and it’s great that West Craven Insurance will also be entering a team of Santa runners.

“Last year’s first Santa Fun Run raised a fantastic £7,562.00. That’s enabled the group to continue its work in supporting local people affected by cancer. Last year’s event was unbelievable as 300 people of all ages, dressed in jolly Santa suits, took to the streets creating tremendous community spirit and camaraderie!”

Lisa Parker, director of West Craven Insurance, said: “We’re really pleased to be teaming up with Bosom Friends for the second annual Santa Fun Run. I’m a keen runner myself and I’ll be twisting the arms of some of my colleagues so we’ll have a good presence on the day!”
