MAGGIE Gaved and her husband, Tim, have presented St Andrew's Church, Skipton, with a copy of the newly published translation of the New Testament and Genesis in Mankanya - a language spoken in Senegal and neighbouring countries by 70,000 people.
Maggie - whose maiden name was Garry - was brought up and educated in Skipton but, to carry out the translation work, she and Tim lived in Senegal, researching this little known language and creating the new volume of the New Testament for Wycliffe Bible Translators.
The bible was received by David Charlton on behalf of St Andrew's Church which supports the translation work of Tim and Maggie Gaved.
