LOTHERSDALE School has been awarded the School Games Kitemark to recognise its achievements in providing pupils with a wide range of sporting opportunities within and beyond the curriculum.
As part of the school's Sports Premium plan, the children have been able to work with sports coaches from local sports clubs to develop their their tag rugby, tennis and cricket skills.
And class four teacher Caris Kingham said: "We have been taking parts in lots of sports competition with local schools as part of the South Craven cluster. We want to inspire our children to achieve their own sporting goals."
The award was presented by Gavin Phillis.
