POLICE have said a woman who was injured in a collision with a car in the centre of Skipton was taken to hospital with a broken leg.
The woman, who was in her 70s and from County Durham, was struck by a silver Volkswagen Golf while crossing Jerry Croft, just off the High Street, at about 1.30pm on Monday.
Several police cars and officers went to the scene and the woman was taken away in an ambulance to Airedale Hospital at about 2.10pm.
Skipton town ambassadors helped police officers direct pedestrians around the scene of the accident.
Police said the woman's injuries were not believed life-threatening and no arrests had been made.
Any witnesses to the incident are asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1 and pass information to the force control room, quoting incident number 12140216318.
