TWO MPs united on Saturday to show their support for a campaign to re-open the Skipton to Colne railway line.
MPs Julian Smith (Skipton and Ripon) and Andrew Stephenson (Pendle) met on Saturday (Dec 13) on the trackbed near Thornton-in-Craven to cut a ribbon in show of their support as patrons of campaign group SELRAP (Skipton East Lancashire Rain Action Partnership).
Jane Wood, media officer on the SELRAP executive committee, said: "This was to show there should be no barriers to re-instating this missing rail link. The ribbon was placed across the trackbed on the county boundary between Lancashire and North Yorkshire."
