ADDINGHAM man Paul Jennings will be treading the boards soon - as an ugly sister.

He will play Josephine in Keighley Amateurs' production of Cinderella, which starts a week-long run at the town's Victoria Hall next Saturday, January 24.

Paul has been involved in Addingham Pantomime for the past six years and, in 2013, won the best dame award at the Wharfedale Festival.

Married with three children, Paul works for Bradford Council’s children’s services department, specialising in young people with autism, learning difficulties or behavioural problems.

He is also the Assistant County Commissioner for Scouts in West Yorkshire.

The other ugly sister, Deirdre, is played by Paul Bamber, from Thackley, who is a GP in Bradford but has also previously practised as a doctor in Keighley.

He said he was delighted to be joining Keighley Amateurs for his first-ever panto and was thrilled to be playing an ugly sister.

He played Tinman in the Wizard Of Oz in Skipton and last appeared on stage in March, at the Leeds Grand Theatre, performing as Andy Lee in 42nd Street with the Leeds Amateur Operatic Society.

He also enjoys ballroom and Latin dancing and is a qualified fitness instructor teaching aerobics classes in the Leeds/Bradford area.

Amateurs spokesman David Brett said: “As usual the sisters spend their time being horrible to Cinderella and are in hot pursuit of any man that passes their way.”

There will be nine afternoon, teatime and evening performances between next Saturday, January 24 and the following Saturday, January 31.
