MEMBERS of Skipton Mothers' Union will be helping to celebrate National Marriage Week with a series of events at three churches.
A search for the couple with the longest marriage in the area and a display of wedding gowns are among the events planned at Christ Church and Holy Trinity in Skipton and St Mary's in Embsay.
National Marriage Week, which runs from February 7 to 14, is supported by the Mothers' Union and various charities with the aim of supporting healthy marriages to bring benefits to society.
Sheila Scott, one of the local organisers, said: " Another idea is to to have a competition asking people to identify couples today from their wedding photographs. We are also looking at ways of getting local schools involved, and hope to finalise dates and venues for particular events very shortly."
