MEGSON, described as the most original duo on the British folk scene, has had to postpone its planned appearance at the First Sunday Folk at Settle's Victoria Hall this weekend.

Instead the group will perform on May 3.

The duo comprises Stu Hanna (vocals, octave mandola, tenor banjo and guitar) and his wife, Debbie (vocals, accordion and whistle).

They performed on the London acoustic scene of the early noughties and, in 2004, released their debut album On The Side on their own EDJ label. Not expecting much, they quickly won fans in Radio 2 DJ Bob Harris and the then rising folk star Seth Lakeman.

The duo turned professional in 2007 with the release of their second album Smoke Of Home.

Since then, they have won three BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominations and three Spiral Earth awards, undertaken international tours and released a number of critically acclaimed albums.
