A DESIGN for a new bicycle 'pump track' for Skipton's Aireville Park is to be put before townsfolk on Wednesday.
The event is at Craven District Council's Belle Vue Square offices from 4pm to 7pm, and design and construction company Back on Track will give short presentations about the track at 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
A pump track is a smaller version of a cycle BMX track where riders use gravity to move through hollows and banked corners.
The project is one of the agreed Aireville Park schemes developed by the council with the Friends of Aireville Park. The track will be located on the former golf putting green next to the main path park.
Fiona Protheroe, chairman of The Friends of Aireville Park, said: “It’s really great to see the design for this new facility, which will be a fabulous new addition to the park and complement the new skate park. A pump track is ideal for the park as it is free to use, caters for all ages and meets a big need for a traffic-free cycle area."
