SETTLE District Young Farmers had a very successful day at the Yorkshire public speaking final at Harrogate on Sunday.
In the junior public speaking, Anna Booth was the top chairman, with Jonathan Booth second, and Paddy Capstick was judged the best speaker, with Charlotte Booth in third spot.
In the vote of thanks section, Ellie Saxby was runner-up and Jessica Sowerbutts was fifth
Anna, Paddy and Ellie were awarded The Hayes Trophy as the overall winners in the juniors with Jonathan, Charlotte and Jessica joint second.
Runners-up in the junior reading were Anna Booth, Charlotte Mellin and Jessica Sowerbutts and fourth place went to Gemma Darwin, Millie Brennan and Georgiana Foster
Junior Member of the Year was Anna Booth. She also finished third in the ten-minute speech.
In the Intermediate Brainstrust, Jodie Bolland was the fourth-placed chairman and Cameron Walton and Kate and Aimee Beresford were the third-placed panellists.
Overall, Settle was placed fourth as a district and many members will now go on to compete at the Northern Area Finals at Hexham in March.
