SKIPTON international soprano Bibi Heal will perform at a concert with Leeds Festival Chorus and the Royal Northern Sinfonia on Saturday.
A frequent soloist with Opera North as well as across the UK and Europe, Bibi has become known for opening musical doors to those who might not otherwise know where to begin with the world of classical music.
She graduated from the University of East Anglia with a first class degree in music and, after completing her postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music, she studied with Graeme Danby, Pat MacMahon and Jonathan Papp. She has since studied privately with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.
Next Saturday, she will join the choir, orchestra and other soloists in a performance of Dixit Dominus, which shows Haydn at his vivacious and dramatic best, and Mozart’s Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, which explores a fascinating variety of ideas and sounds.
The concert takes place at Leeds Town Hall at 7.30pm and tickets are available from 0113 224 3801.
Bibi will be back in action on Saturday, March 7, when she joins the Stondon Singers for a concert in Great Waltham Church, Essex.
