REFUSAL reasons for a planned housing development at Madge Bank, Cononley, are likely to take into account a recent appeal decision.
Last week, Craven District Council's planning committee went against the advice of officers and rejected resubmitted plans for up to ten homes on the field, seen as a valuable piece of green space by villagers.
Councillors had been recommended to approve the scheme in the absence of an objection from the highways authority.
The council will instead object to the scheme because of its harm on the Cononley Conservation Area.
It will also take into account the recent appeal decision on refused plans to build 16 homes at The Barn, Crag View, Cononley.
A government inspector, in upholding the decision of Craven Council, did not believe there would be any impact on highway safety, but thought it unacceptable because of its impact on the character and appearance of the area.
