AN Earby girl has organised a fundraising concert in memory of well-known local resident who died last year.

Earby man Malcolm Harling died at age of 71 in Pendleside Hospice last July.

Tributes at the time referred to Mr Harling as man who "dedicated his life to everyone else" and "made an impression on a lot of people".

One of those people is 13-year-old Jody Holden, a year nine student at West Craven High School in Barnoldswick.

She came up with the idea to organise a fundraising concert in memory of Mr Harling, who was a family friend.

Jody is a member of the Arden Angels Choir, which will perform the concert in All Saints Church, Earby, at 7.30pm on Saturday, March 14.

"He was a really nice guy who did a lot for everybody else," said Jody's mum, Nicci Holden.

"I think it's a lovely idea to do a concert," she added. "Jody is a kind girl. I'm really proud of her."

Tickets cost £7 for adults, £4 concessions and are available by ringing 07798 603904 or emailing nicciholden@hotmail.com.

Funds will go to Pendleside Hospice.
