Keen gardeners in Craven are being reminded to renew their Garden Waste Subscription for another year.

Craven District Council runs a fortnightly garden waste collection service and subscriptions must be renewed every year by March 31.

The cost of the service is staying the same – just £24 per year. Residents are being warned that bins that do not have a valid licence will not be emptied.

More than 9,000 subscriptions were taken out when the project was first launched in 2013, and so far more than 6,000 people have renewed their licences.

The garden waste collected by the council is composted at Yorkshire Water’s site at Esholt in West Yorkshire, and eventually becomes compost for horticulture and agricultural crops.

Residents can renew their subscription online at www.cravendc.gov.uk/gardenwaste, by phoning the automated payment line on 0845 3724401, or by posting a cheque made payable to ‘Craven District Council’, to Garden Waste Subscription Service, Craven District Council, 1 Belle Vue Square, Broughton Road, Skipton, BD23 1FJ.

If you have any queries or questions regarding the garden waste collection scheme, please visit the council’s website at www.cravendc.gov.uk/gardenwaste or contact the Customer Services team on 01756 700600 between 9am to 5pm (Mon-Thur), 9am to 4.30pm (Fri).
