The Phoenix Dance Theatre Company will perform a one off event at Christ Church, Keighley Road, on Wednesday, April 15.

And with tickets kept at the low price of £10 for adults, and £6 for under 18s, it is expected to be a sell-out event.

There will also be a chance for audience members to talk to the dancers as part of a question and answer session.

Brought to Skipton by Craven District Council, as part of its work with Rural Arts on Tour, it will be the first contemporary dance event to staged at the Keighley Road church.

The Leeds-based dance company, which was set up 30 years ago, will perform its ReFINED show - a mix of solo, duet and quartet dances created by its artistic director, Sharon Watson.

There will also be a showing of the Yorkshire Festival film, Ghost Peloton, choreographed by Phoenix and filmed by Reset Films.

A curtain raiser, performed by a diverse group of young people from a range of backgrounds and geographical areas, will also be featured as part of the performance.

A spokesman for Phoenix Dance said: “Designed specifically for smaller stages, ReFINED gives audience members the opportunity to be able to see high quality dance in their local venues.”
