PLACES are still available for two specialist Care Act training sessions for professionals - such as GPs, health and social care workers, district nurses and occupational therapists - who work with carers and vulnerable people in Craven.
They will cover various aspects of the new Act, including care and support plans, eligibility, carers assessments and adult assessments.
Sessions will be held on Wednesday from 1pm to 4.30pm or Thursday, April 16, from 9.30am to 1pm, at Carers’ Resource’s Shipley office, Unit 15, Park View Court, St Paul’s Road, Shipley, BD18 3DZ.
They will be led by Anna Jackson, head of development at Carers’ Resource.
She said: “The 2015 Care Act comes into force on April 1 and we are providing these in-depth sessions to help prepare health and social care staff for the impact it will have on their roles and how the changes could affect their clients.
“We held an introduction to the Care Act workshops at our professional open days in the past few months and they were extremely well received by professionals who attended – they included occupational therapists, district nurses, and colleagues from other agencies and voluntary organisations which support vulnerable people.
“Those who attended said they would welcome a more detailed training session so these are being held in response to a demand.”
Places cost £20 and to book, contact Saiuqa Raney on 01274 449660 or email sraney@carersresource.org
