ILKLEY's Matthew Chivers produced his best-ever time in the recentWorld Indoor Rowing Championships.
The Bradford Grammar School student clocked 6mins 17.9sec as he came tenth in the under-18 heavyweight contest at the Agganis Stadium in Boston.
His time shaved 1.6secs off his previous best of 6:19.5which he had set while securing a bronze medal in this year's British Indoor Championships at Lee Valley Velo Park.
Eighteen-year-old Chivers had earlier won the English Indoor Championship at Manchester Velodrome with a time of 6:26.5.
