THE weather was perfect for tree planting in Long Preston Playing Field on Thursday.
In two hours, 50 trees were planted by members of the Playing Field Association, helped by local children, their parents and grandparents.
The trees were provided by the Woodland Trust and species included rowan, flowering cherry, silver birch and an oak tree from the Queen's Forest to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
