TWO Skipton stores are sporting new shop fronts.

Bakery firm Greggs has remodelled its High Street shop to meet the demands of busy shoppers, with seating and free wi-fi available for customers who want to enjoy their purchases inside the shop.

Shop manager Peter Stainforth said: “The shop team are looking forward to hearing what the local community think of the new look.”

And Raymond Reynolds, retail director for Greggs, said: “We are delighted to be able to invest in Skipton and provide our valued customers with a modern and comfortable upgrade to the shop. This underlines our long-term commitment to the area.”

Also sporting a new look is the Sheep Street premises of shoe shop Clarks.

It has contemporary window displays and premium in-store visuals, which create a more inviting shopping space. And a specially designed iPad foot measuring gauge will ensure that children have shoes that fit their feet perfectly.

The store is part of a trial to ensure the right product is in the right place for its consumers. The company has altered its distribution strategy which means products featured in store will be based on the consumer profile of the market town.

Store manager Louise Davis said: “We have proudly been part of Skipton since 1928 and the investment in the refit reflects Clarks’ commitment to the store team and local community.”

Simon Jones, head of retail sales, added: “We continually strive to deliver a great in store experience, not only with our renowned customer service, but also through creating a fresh and exciting store environment.”
