A WINE merchant is combining his passion for natural wines and cycling to raise money for Settle Swimming Pool.
Every year, Rob Bagot, who runs Buon Vino in The Courtyard, just outside Settle, attends the RAW natural wine fair in London, and this time, instead of driving down, he will cycle there and raise money for the Friends of Settle Swimming Pool.
Rob said: “Like me, I am sure everyone in Settle highly values this community facility and many have enjoyed watching their children take their first strokes there, including my own daughters Lucy, six, and Francesca, four, who both swim there twice a week. We need to keep it going.
“So I have decided to combine leg power and natural wine to raise some money for them.”
“I will be cycling non-stop to the best natural wine fair in the UK – RAW – on May 17.
“That’s a long way to cycle on your own, but once there I will ease the pain by spending the day tasting (and drinking) the world's finest natural wines!
“Please donate a pound or two to help keep this great community pool going.”
Rob has so far raised £150 for the pool. To support him, visit gofundme.com/pofyis
