MANORLANDS fundraising is blossoming after a second annual daffodil party coined-in over £800.

The event was scheduled to take place, as last year, at Silsden's Keighley Road sports club.

But insufficient ticket sales meant an eleventh-hour shift of venue.

"We didn't sell enough tickets to cover costs so had to cancel at the last minute," said organiser Angela Malcolm, of Silsden.

"Those people who had bought tickets were refunded and invited to a smaller gathering at our home.

"We had a fantastic night and thanks to two great prizes donated to us, we were able to raise a superb amount.

"We're truly grateful to everyone who came along."

Mrs Malcolm was supporting the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice as a thank-you for the care it provided to her late mum, Phyllis Creighton.

She died from an autoimmune condition four years ago.
