A WOMAN climber aged 74 has died following a fall in North Craven.
The incident happened on Thursday at about 5.50pm at Oxenber Scar, Austwick.
The climber fell head first while descending the ‘easy’ gulley, between climbs.
A Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedic pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
After a brief police investigation, Cave Rescue Organisation members lifted her into a stretcher, which was then lowered from the crag and carried down to the road.
