STAR organist John Bowdler will return to Skipton's newly-furbished town hall to perform at a series of ballroom dances.

John has made numerous television appearances including most recently on Great British Views with Rory Bremner, but is best known for being a resident organist, playing the Wurlitzer Organ, at the world famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom for the last 26 years.

Following the success of previous dances at the town hall, John will be returning to play music to accompany ballroom Latin and sequence dancing. Dancers of all levels are invited to take part as well as spectators.

The first dance is due to take place on Saturday from 7.30pm to 11pm. There is a licensed bar and all guests will receive a free cup of tea or coffee during the interval.

Other dances will be held in July, September and November.

Tickets are available from the Tourist Information Centre, in Skipton Town Hall, and cost £6.50 in advance or £7.50 on the door.

And the town hall's popular monthly arts and crafts fair have also returned.

They will be held on the first weekend of every month and will include handcrafted gifts and refreshments from Sheila's Cafe. Admission is free.
