IN response to rumours, Pendle councillors have made it clear no decisions have been made about allowing dogs to be off leads in the borough’s parks.
Last month executive councillors received a report of the findings of a working group set up to look at a range of issues in Pendle from dog fouling to irresponsible dog ownership.
Councillors agreed to review the council’s dog control orders and consider introducing new public space protection orders.
Cllr David Clegg, executive member for environmental services, said: “I would stress that no decisions have yet been made about enforcing dogs being on leads in our parks or banning dogs from parks.
“A timetable for the review of the council’s dog control orders will be reported to the July meeting of the executive. As part of this review we will consult with all five area committees and Pendle residents will have the opportunity to share their views.”
