CHILDREN and helpers from the 3rd Skipton Beavers spent an evening litter picking in the town's Aireville Park.
They worked in groups of six, taking it in turn to hold the bin bags while the others dug out all sorts of rubbish from around the park and among the bushes.
There was a competition to see which group could find the most litter and even though the park looked fairly litter free when they arrived, they managed to fill four bin bags.
Leader Sally Murrell said: "We were going to have some games as well but the Beavers were so enthusiastic about finding rubbish that they didn't want to stop!
"They were surprised that so many people has spoiled the park by throwing rubbish on the floor and couldn't understand why some grown ups don't bother to use the bins."
