THE school council at Beamsley's Boyle and Petyt Primary School council decided to organise a concert for parents and friends to raise money for new ICT equipment and its chosen charity, Save the Children.

The children sold tickets to the event and visitors were entertained by the school choir which came first in the junior choir class at Skipton Music Festival.

The choristers sang a range of toe-tapping tunes by artists ranging from Take That to Rodgers and Hammerstein.

After the concert, the guests were treated to buns and biscuits which had been donated from the Beamsley Bake Off earlier in the day where prizes were awarded to children for best buns, best biscuits and best decoration.

Headteacher Imogen Addy said: "All in all it was a fabulous occasion. The buns and biscuits were the icing on the cake after an amazing concert."
