A NAVY veteran who served on the Arctic convoys in the Second World War has been presented with the Armed Forces Flag which was raised in Skipton last week.
Norman Robinson, of Skipton's Royal Naval Association branch, was given the flag by the Armed Forces Association.
It had been raised at a special ceremony at Skipton Town Hall last Monday and was taken down after Sunday's parade through the town, marking the end of Armed Forces Week.
Mr Robinson, 90, was one of four Skipton veterans to receive medals from the Russian Federation earlier this year to honour their heroic service in the convoys, which supplied vital food and weapons to the Soviet Union during the war.
Skipton Royal British Legion chairman Alex Bentley said the parade had gone well, but he would like to have seen more veterans taking part.
The salute was taken by Legion president Col Laurence Smith.
